Hrmm. Thats a tough call to which one is better over-all. The difference isn't that great, but I would have to give it to FF7. At least 7 didn't punish you for the sin of using a magic spell in a fantasy game.

I see we have the same opinion about FFVIII. I absolutely hate how magic is completely useless in this game: it does horribly low damage, it weakens your characters with each use. Once you realize that, all you have to do is draw 100 of each spell and junction them correctly, then you never touch them again and the game becomes a walk in the park!

My God someone finally said it! I didn't even noticed that post!

I freakin luv using magic! I remember using every spell in FFVII to death. FFXII did the same with Summons, rendering them absolutely useless.
