Pansmermia is a hypothesis, there are predictions, and experiments ongoing. There is nothing supernatural or metaphysical or beyond explanation involved. ID has no experiments, research, ect ongoing. There are no testable predictions. It is nothing but metaphysical and is by definition beyond explanation. It is not science. Philosophy? Sure. Religion? Definitely. Science? Not even close. |
Panspermia would fall under ID. All panspermia states is that something seeded our planet with life, intentionally or unintentionally. This can be tested, but not with current technology. A large portion of the galaxy would need to be reached.
