Ok, has anyone actually got any evidence to support the notion that people are buying a second 360 to replace a broken one in any sort of consistent, large-scale manner? Im reading posts like this one but they dont seem to be based on anything. And with microsofts extensive warranty system, i think it unlikely that most ppl have paid for another console. Even those that werent covered by warranty would find it cheaper to have it repaired |
You can't repair easily, the heat warps the motherboard and you have to reball the chip at a miniumn. This doesn't work all the time either, just look at the reports of the repair shops qutting the market for the 360. If any 3rd party repair is attempted this invalidates your warrenty, as 2 of mine were outside of the 1 year and repairs attempted before the 3 year was announced.
A quick look at the constant sales of faulty xbox 360s *console only* will give you some idea of the number of people who are replacing.
