So both scenarios, straight up fight or looking eye to eye, results in Chief getting destroyed by Snake. And I mean, worst come to worst, Snake will throw an EMP, short circuit Chief's suit, and then just slap him around a little bit, before pulling his M1911 and blowing Chief's head away.

This is silly. Snake is a bad man, but he's not even in the same league as the Chief, neither in terms of hand-to-hand combat skills no in terms of physical ability. The Chief's reaction time alone is more than twice as fast as the absolute fastest non-augmented human. Chief would tear Snake to pieces. There's no way around it.

Question:

When has Chief ever shown to be proficient in hand to hand combat?

When has Chief been shown to have super physical ability (other than jumping a billion feet in the air on low gravity planets)?

When has his reaction time been shown to be any higher than a normal human?

And you say "non-augmented" human? Who do you think Snake is? If Snake hears an ant move, he'll know precisely where it's at and have the barrel of a gun pointed directly on top of it....all in an instant

The chief, before his augmentation, accidentally killed three elite orbital drop soldiers in hand to hand sparring. This would be when he was thirteen or fourteen, I think. Later on, he sustains massive internal injuries, fights a Brute (which is basically a really pissed off rhinoceros-gorilla) hand to hand, and wins.

He can run over 65 miles an hour (albeit with the armor - it's unknown how fast he is without it, but Spartans were recorded at over 35 miles an hour when they were still adjusting to their augmentations, so they are much faster) and survive a fall from outside of a planet's atmosphere, although this is partially thanks to his armor. Prior to having his armor, he fell from more than a mile up out of a dropship and survived the impact.

His reaction time is 20 milliseconds, and it is significantly faster in combat. Again, this is unarmored: once his armor is plugged into his nervous system, his reaction time is so fast it is essentially instantaneous. It's not higher, it's lower, which is to say faster.

Snake is not augmented. Not like the Chief.
