Makes sense. With America now more willing to engage, it would be politically more prudent for Amadinejad to at least appear that he's willing to negotiate. Iran is not so willing to antagonize the world, they just want to posture
They shouldn't be taken lightly, of course, but they can still be negotiated with. Progress with Israel will probably help progress with Iran, as will progress in Iraq. But as Iraq moves forward, Israel is probably going to take a step back. A small one if Livni comes out on top, a larger one if Netanyahu does.
