This article has given me a thought about something we constantly see discussion about on this forum ... "Casual" vs. "Hardcore" gamers.

No matter how much longer a person has been a gamer for, how much more time or money they spend on gaming, or how good of a gamer they are they are a "Casual" gamer simply because of the games they choose to play; and the kinds of games that make you a "Casual" gamer are games which do not contribute to "Gaming Culture" as Malstrom defines it.

On top of that there is a disturbing similarity to how the elitest snobs who consider themselves "Cultured" make (very negative) assumptions about the "Unclutured/Unwashed Masses", and how the "Hardcore Gamers" make (very negative) assumptions about the "Casual Gamers ".
