Does the setup app initialize on another computer? I think it could be that the files on the CD have become corrupt, in which case you'll need to download a new version from the HP website.
Is this the scanning/PC-Fax software? - if the new hardware wizard found and installed the printer it should already work as a printer shouldn't it??
