Yea, it is hard to use some guns against smgs. I mainly just stick with smgs, STG44, and any machine guns. I love the FG42 except it has a pretty small clip so you can only mow down 1 or 2 people usually before you run out of ammo and need to reload. It is pretty good on cliffside level since it is so big.
@Hyperion, I wasn't the best yesterday because I just started over on 2nd level of prestige. I have a few more guns/perks unlocked and so I should be a lot better again now.
