I don't think the article is necessarily referencing the fact that Left 4 Dead is just such a great title that is missing from PS3. As much as the way Left 4 Dead is setup it is completely an online, community based game. You can play it for free with friends on a PC and that's quite a bit of fun.
The PS3 provides a similar experience to the PC in that regard (And possibly a slightly easier interface) to meet up and play with friends.
