Actually, making told me he wasn't really a fan of ARPGs.

I have mixed feelings about ARGPs.  I like some, but I just get frustrated when they try to be more like God of War or something, but fail miserably at it.  If you're going to make it an action game, make it a GOOD action game.  If not, then just give me a battle system like Pokemon or FFX.

This games seems like it actualy has a decent combat system.

What's a "good" action game? Meaning how they're not doing all those crazy moves and stuff, and more like Demon's Soul and WKC which are more of the slower kindand doing normal moves?

If that's the case, I disagree! Faster and more actiony is a lot more fun...and faster. It keeps battles from dragging on.

Although Zelda isn't an RPG, I think games like WKC and Demon's Soul need to have speed up to par with Zelda. It's not too fast but not too slow either. Not saying those games are really slow, but they could be faster.

A "good" action game gives you a greater deal of control (and more direct control) over your character's actions.  It's not like Rogue Galaxy, where you can either block or attack . That's it.  Maybe switch a weapon here and there.  And just about every attack looks teh same, except for a few special moves that can be pulled off on rare occasions.

And it's not like FFXII's, where the game is basically on aut-pilot.  It's something more like God of War or Heavenly Sword, in which you can attack in multiple ways with different animations, block, dodge, etc. Hell, in Demon's Souls you can even parry!  And I'm not talking about clicking "parry" in some menu.  Even in something like God of War you can't really parry.
