because they are more appealing and unique.. not some other generic.. and bland good doing military force.. as ISA obviously is :).. the game is about the hellghast nobody is going to say "golly them isa sure looks interesting i should get more information on this game"

and i think it would be a little blunt to even compare the invasion of helghan with the invasion of iraq.. even writing this feels stupid..

but i do think that the whole thing may be some political comment... the good guys drive off the invaders and invade their planet to retaliate and "restore peace" but they turn out to be even worse because that planet they defended was never theirs in the first place because they took it from the hellghast ..who only became so militaristic and aggresive because of the ISA took vecta by force out of greed

Well, Saddam was seen as a threat with Iraq.  He invaded Iraq, and the world was sold a bill of goods he was about to acquire WMD, and they didn't want to risk "a smoking gun turned into a mushroom cloud".  Even with all this talk, the world wasn't going to vote to invade Iraq.  But, the USA did.  The point being, even if someone may pose a threat to strike, it doesn't mean you invade them.   I believe in a special on KZ2, a lead designer on the game (or a business type) said that the game is going to make it unclear whether or not you are on the right side.

The only reason to bring up Iraq was the invasion of Iraq was considered morally questionable.  The invasion of Helghast seems similar, particularly all this talk of the back story, which is the impression I got the more I read the discussion in this thread.
