You are getting game concentration and fan base concentration mixed up. Besides Halo the games may have been concentrated on PS2 but the Shooter and popular western genre fanbases were very much present on the XBOX, unlike the JRPG fanbase. There's a difference. If a shooter goes exclusive to the 360 then the fanbase is there to support it. But when an JRPG goes 360 exclusive it is not there to support it. Just look at the JRPG sales on the 360 for evidence of that.

You may have switched consoles but not everyone has. And that is my point. They split their fanbase into the two consoles. If all their games would have been PS3 exclusives you no doubt would own a PS3 if you are a RPG fan like you say. Then as a consumer they would have been able to sell you all of their games while just concentrating on one HD console. But now they have to concentrate on both consoles. And RPG's that are PS3 exclusive they can not sell to you. And RPG's that are 360 exclusive they can not sell to PS3 only owners. It was a dumb business move, plain and simple. When you have your fanbase concentrated you don't encourage them to disperse.

And you can't compare the switch from SNES to the PS as the original PS outsold the N64 by threefold. There is not even close to that type of discrepancy in userbase between the 360 and the PS3. If the 360 was to have Wii sales figures but still have the same hardcore fanbase then I would agree with you. But they don't.

As for the graphics, if they would sell the same without the graphics then why bother? SE sure must be stupid if they are wasting all their time and money with graphics. If FF were to make a new FF game and not include Chocobo's or Shiva or whatever other FF fixture you can think of but still have amazing Graphics it would sell the same and all the FF fans would still buy the game even if they are upset about it. Unlike if you put out a main FF title with poor graphics. It would get shitted on in reviews and get sales from only the most hardcore FF fans.

Edit: I have never really played the Kingdom heart series just watched my brother play a few times and it may be graphic intensive I don't know really what it's selling point is other than having the disney characters.

Sorry to interrupt, but I completely disagree with the bolded. Main FF's (just like main DQ) sell because, and I'm sorry to say this, they're main FF's. As many people have pointed on this site, sales have little or nothing to do with quality, or graphics. They're about hype and advertisement. Dragon Quest IX won't look anywhere near as beautiful as DQVIII did and guess what? It'll sell like crazy, maybe even better than DQVIII. Square could make FFXIV Wii exclusive with a substancial graphic downgrade relative to FFXIII and guess what? People would buy it (and it would outsell the PS360 version, due to the bigger install base)
