Would you say Killzone 2 is close to maxing out the PS3 potenial, jetril? Thanks a lot for making this topic! :)

That's impossible to say. Although Guerilla Games is using a lot of the PS3's power, we don't know exactly how efficiently they are using it. It could be that Killzone 2 is the best the PS3 can do or it will be a game which we look back on 4 years from now and laugh at. Perhaps Sony greatly improves their dev tools and developers are able to spend more time optimizing games. A while back wrote a program in C and decided to decompile it to see how efficient the compiler was. I jumped to a specific function and was shocked. The compiler(GCC) thought that the best way to add 10 to a number was to subtract 4 and add 14. It was a funny yet performance consuming bug. The future is hard to predict.

That would be really good, particularly in a complex architecture, but it's always a good thing. Repetitive tasks are boring for most common people, for creative people like games developers, boredom is even more dangerous, as it can lower their performances.
