In my opinion, the only console manufacturer who should be considering switching their architecture for the next generation is probably Nintendo ... Being expensive consoles which lacked decent backwards compatibility really hurt both the XBox 360 and PS3, and I doubt either console could maintain decent backwards compatibility at a decent price if they switch architecture.
