| RVDondaPC said: FFXIII should not have gone to Wii, but other games should have. Who would want to play FFXIII on the wii over the 360 or PS3? I know I wouldn't. Might as well do a remake of FFVII if you want to sell something on the WII. Or some other RPG. Each new FF game is made to push the graphic capabilities and the emersiveness of the genre. If it was on the WII it would be counter productive to what making a new FF game is all about. Edit to respond to your Edit: Because Square Enix is a JRPG maker. And uhm well the xbox 360 doesn't have much of a JRPG market and the PS3 does. It's pretty obvious. |
Does it? Why would it not? The PS3 has few RPGS, the only increase would be in Japan (200k sales at best, and fi you think that makes a big difference...lol). Most western JRPG fans have a 360 now. And if they wanted to expand western markets, why would they put it on the system with the smaller userbase in the west?
Now, for pushing the graphics, thats not what ff is all about. Thats some excuse that came out with the hd systems. FFX and XII were on the least powerful system, the most loved ff (even though I think vi is best) is vii and it is not the most powerful game, and the remakers are on the ds when they could be on the more powerful psp. What makes ff is the universe and the worlds that SE creates, along with the gameplay. FF is not FF without chocobos, shiva, bahamut etc. FF is still ff with weaker graphics.
You make it sound like it is obvious 13 should be on the ps3. The ONLY reason it is on it is because they bet on the wrong horse at the start of the generation. Which is forgivable, I don't blame them for messeing up. But, for people to think that today, the hd system is the right choice for these games...it is laughable. Unless SE does not want to make as much profit. FF would sell at least as much on the wii and would have made tons more profit.
