I don't really ever use Live. Heck, I let my Gold expire and I've been living with Silver for a while.
Anyhow, join the club! I got my 360 for free, originally, as well. Except mine came without a HDD or any controllers, so I was incapable of using it for a while.
I use it ALL the time now, though. I say you should keep it.
