Im not actually talking about poor people - Im talking about wealthy people (you should have seen it :P). They still don't care. And the difference between a BluRay / DVD is irrelevant compared to a VCD / DVD (IMO). I think you need a REAL nice screen to take advantage of BluRay/HD-DVD - and that's just another thing most people will not have. Ive seen BluRay movies. Yes they look nice. Yes they cost 2x as much. And yes, most movies are such CRAP I have no interest in owning them on any format. Until the price of players come down to something reasonable (something Toshiba is actually make happen with HD-DVD players), BluRay will remain a niche format. Even 60mill players (PS3's) is basically nothing worldwide. It will be something like this: 40% movies - not worh owning 40% movies - worth owning on VCD 18% movies - worth owning on DVD 2% movies - worth owning on BluRay/HD-DVD Whether people are either 1) stupid 2) have too much money.. and waste money on BluRay - well that's their problem ;) People waste money on all sorts of things these days. EDIT - for interest, I have 10 DVD players in my house at the moment. 3 PC's, 2 laptops, 2 DVD players, Xbox, 360, PS2 (this isn't all mine - shared between 4 people). And no BluRay players. |
i believe you...but what countries ?
yes you have 10 dvd players... i have 5... 7 years ago i had 0
time goes a hell of alot more PS3 will sell, people will buy Br palyers, burners... (most computer companys support BR)
