Very true - but the world is changing. Look at iTunes - a few years ago, that would have been impossible to imagine. Now with a new generation of digital online devices, I think you'll see a huge surge in online movies/TV. Internet speed is probably the real limiting factor, and once people get a taste for it - there will be a huge surge towards better broadband (it sucks in particular in Australia - one of the worst modern countries in the world :P). Ironically, the PS3 could be mainly responsible for driving this growth. (I admit it will be a while before we watch 30Gig movie streams across the Internet...). |
