Here is a question for everyone... as we all know, players, videos/discs & TV's are very price sensitive.
Assuming you had both players, would you rather buy a DVD at $9.95US - or the same BluRay movie at $39.95US (or is it $29.95?). What if you knew the movie was *lame*, and you would only watch it once or so (say it was for a friend to watch, or the kids).
I would say at the moment BluRay may have 1% (or less) of the worldwide video disc market (including DVD's & BluRay). Why pay more for the same movie?
My final comment for now - in my recent Asia tour I was *shocked* to see so many people buying / owning VCD movies. Probably 90% of the movies I saw were VCD! How could this be (I asked myself), knowing that the quality SUCKED? The answer - price (plus piracy ;).
If people are still happy to buy/watch VCD's based on price - why would they give a rats ar*e about BluRay, or any other expensive format?
