Nice there goes a un-reliable Zephyr motherboard. Now when you send it in to Microsoft you will more than likely get a Jasper or Falcon. Those are reliable//I had mine Falcon 360 for about a year and some change//and no problems whatsoever.
Now it makes absolutely no since to put a cable box on top of a Xbox 360 knowing that it produces a big chunk of heat. Your cable box/360 and DVD player alone makes a huge nice load of heat. That is what caused it.
