Good for Sony, but anyone placing bets on this bringing a price cut shouldn't get their hopes up. As much as I want it to happen, since I still only have a Wii this gen, until the currencies realign in a favorable direction for Sony there's just no way they can cut prices outside of Japan.
That said, very good news for Sony. They don't just cut the costs of the cell dramatically when they do this, but plenty of other parts as well. If the rumors of hardware being at break even before admin/marketing costs is correct (i.e. it takes ~$400 in parts/labor to build one) then they are in for a bigger year than last.
You do not have the right to never be offended.
