what state do you live, at&t is now the second biggest cellphone provider. There should be service available where you live.

it states that the iphone is coming to the dominican republic if not already there

yes is already here (in fact  the iphone was here one month after launch in the US), but my company pays most of my services including my cell phone, so it does not makes any sense to get a new plan and pay it myself to get an iphone for US$320.00 + US$100 every month when i wont use that line to talk. At the end getting a plan to get an i phone in my case is uber expensive, i was planning on getting it at ebay (what would we do without the internet?)

 

cant you just cancel your other cellphone service and have your company pay for the iphone plan.  The only benefit of getting it from ebay is that you can use it later as phone if you want, otherwise it is a oversized ipod touch. 

edit: THe iphone still has wifi so you could use internet if you have access to a router.
