How have they handled the controls specifically? If people can say it actually plays without having to think about a mouse... how so? I can't imagine they went for a "use both sticks to draw a square around certain units"-approach (as that would seem cumbersome to me)? Or did they and does it work like a charm? (I really want RTS to succeed on a console, so that's why I'm asking :))

 

You press LB to select all of your units on the map, RB to select the units on your screen.  If you have a group selected you can hit the LT to switch between the different unit types. Y is for special attacks, X is normal selection. Works like a champ 

Also, hold down A and it will create a large 'paint brush circle' that you can use to highlight a section of troops.
