You're not missing anything.

Killzone2 is in 720p native.
With a 1080p HDTV (like my Sharp Aquos 46"), Killzone2 is just upscaled (and to some people, upscaling a 720p image is uglier than watching it native at 720p.)

 

 

Yeah not talking so much about the resolution, but you're tv has a great contrast ratio and is just overall much better quality. Your blacks are darker, colors are more vibrant, much less washed out then a TV like mine. My blacks are dark grey. The best way I can put it would be on a quality TV colors are like a oil painting, where on mine it would be like a single layer of watercolors. I will be in the market for a TV very similar to yours in the next year so for now I will make do haha
