KZ2 began development before E3 2005, though the number of staffs involved in the project at the time may be nowhere near the current GG capacity. I would say a 4 years cycle for this game is more than reasonable.

no it isnt. that would mean they started before finishing the first if anything the psp version started then.

Killzone was release in November 04, concept of the sequal likely began after the first game went to retail I don't see any conflict, certainly a psp spinoff isn't going to take the entire GG team to complete.

Beginning of development could be as simple as concept design and storyboard, actual coding could be months if not a year away. I think our disagreement lies in the definition of 'development' here :).
