Demand is people who are willling to buy units, not people that want to buy units but can't or won't. (Supply > Demand) = Inventory available = Demand satisfied (Demand > Supply) = Inventory unavailable = Demand unmet

Sony can meet the demand right now, but the demand is still there as there are people still willing to pay the cost for it. They can't sell all of them fast at the price they charge, but they will sell them all before summer. Demand is the people who are willing to pay for it, and not all people willing to pay for it have yet. Thats the way business works, Sony is going to charge this much until they think nobody will pay that price and then lower it to increase the demand, but as long as the demand is at a level they are happy with the price will stay the same. Why sony would be happy is anybodies guess.
