FF7 hit on around a 10 mill user base, its ridiculous that it sold 9.7 million.


Attach rates only really work after the console's life is effectively over.

Otherwise, the day after the PS3 launch, you could scream how RFOM had an 85% attach rate. Now it's at 36%. By the end of life, it will almost assuredly be at 10% or less. Even Gears, which has sold in much greater numbers than RFOM, will probably end up just over or under 10% attached, maybe close to 15% if it's lucky.

What does final PS2 number mean to lets say GT3 attach rate if by 04 GT4 came out and GT3 was no longer sold ?

My point is small user base = high attach rate, on 10 million PS3 user abse FF will come close to 50% since the 10 mill are very hardcore gamers.

10% on 100 mill or 50% on 10 mill = the same sales.

If resistance can do +35% attach rate you really thing Final Fantasy will have a hard time doing much better ?

 

 

Hardcore gamers like RPGs again?  From the definition of Hardcore gamer i've gotten from this generation i'd expect a hardcore gamer to pop a Final Fantasy game in for 5 minutes.... get seriously freaked out and have their sexuality challenged when they find out that "Hot chick" they like is totally a dude and then throw in the latest FPS for 6 hours because shooting things in the face and watching them die is the only thing that makes them feel like a man again.

EDIT: Heh forgot my actual point.  Point being.  Final Fantasy 13 should sell a lot of PS3's.  Though I expect sales will still be disapointing for SE.  However they've put themselves in a corner, regardless they have the spinoffs to make up for the loss. 

Maybe we'll see a PC Port or even a 360 port.  But i wouldn't expect it to be the case until a half a year or so after the PS3 release.
