Has anyone else here taken a look at XBox Live Community games?  On Wednesday I will check out what is new for it.  I had stumbled across some stuff that ended up eating a bunch of my time.  There is the likes of Weapon of Choice which feels like an Amiga game.  After that, I got into Puzzle Diffusion for awhile.

Well, the latest game I got into today, taking up WAY too much time (Talking a session of over 6 hours straight, nonstop) is this Community game that goes for merely 200 points ($2.50 USA) called "Miner Dig Deep".  I thought it might be a game like Boulder Dash when I saw it up on the Marketplace, so I downloaded it.  Well, it wasn't quite that.  Was it is, is a fairly simple mining game.  Take your character, dig up different minerals and gems for money you get selling them in the shop and get gear.  VERY simple concept, with basic graphics.

However, the buying of gear brings on an addictive type of grinding for more money so you can get better gear and go deeper.  If you know what happens in Diablo, you have the idea.  Nope, no monsters, just pits you fall in and rocks that crush you on your head.  Oh, and the lantern that grows weaker over time until you are in the dark.  And as you go deeper it gets harder and harder to dig, taking up more time.  So, the deeper you go, the more you need to upgrade, but the minerals and gems get more and more valuable, so it helps.  I believe the level is likely randomly generated also, so it is different each time you play.  I can't confirm though.

It is a tight little game, that would be at home in 8-bit days, but it is here now.  I recommend people check it out.  Download it and see if it is of interest.

Ok, beyond this game, I figured I would start a thread on Live Community games.  I am curious if anyone else has looked at any and got into it.  If you have, what has caught your interest?  I know the games don't have Achievement points you can earn, but still I would see if anyone finds anything of interest they would play.

EDIT: The name of the game is "Miner Dig Deep" not "Miner Dig Deeper" (although this could be the name of the sequel).
