Well I think it's entirely possible that its not narrowmindedness that fuels their compulsion to just answer that way. Perhaps to them the answer is so obvious that they don't feel the need for a big long explanation. Also, it could be a bit redundant to offer more of the same that others have posted about at this point.
Also, I don't think most people on this site really browse around here just looking for arguements and the ability to be a self righteous asshole. Some people on here do though.
