Damn, Time Warner charges me 50 bucks a month for 10mbps. = They're also the only option here unless you want AT&T dsl, and I live in freakin San Diego City. Are internet options normally this limited? I grew up away from the city and I thought we were limited because of that fact. Now it seems limited everywhere. |
See what you do is you call and say you're going to cancel because DSL is only 25 bucks a month (which it is). If need be you switch to ATT (who will give you a great deal if you switch from time warner) then use one of the winback promotions time warner offers. If you play the two against each other you can get sub 30 dollar high speed internet perpetually.
Yes there are only 2 choices, ATT gets the DSL monopoly, TWC gets the cable monopoly. There's satellite internet but thats horribly expensive and bad for uploads. Legal monopolies ftl.
You can also get your cable down to 30 bucks with the same kind of behavior, just be ready to follow through on the threat and go to the alternate provider for a while if need be. I had DSL for 6 months and it wasn't bad at all (I just prefer cable for the higher off peak hours speed).
