Will the Brazilian team cope with the nearly unbearable pressure in 2014?

Wouldn't you want to see another Maracanazo? That must have been really something, I'd love to see another one

I don't actually want to see another Maracanazo, but I think it will be extremely hard for Brazil to win the title in their own country. The immense pressure from their own fans and mass media might kill the team.

I'm curious: Which of your country's titles is considered more important in Argentina today, the first one in troubled times 1978 or the Maradona one in 1986?

(The 1978 final was the first WC final I ever watched on TV, though I'm not sure anymore if it was already broadcasted live over here or time-shifted. The atmosphere was absolutely incredible even on TV).

The 86 is better remembered, like you mentioned, the 78 WC is like evoking the terrible thing that was the most cruent dictatorship in the history of our country (76-83). Of course, everyone remembers that WC and is happy about it, but also everyone admits that the 6-0 to Peru that allowed us to qualify to the final (we needed to win by 4 goals to qualify) was orchestrated (the Peruvian goalkeeper was Argentinian and he "didn't try" to avoid the goals). And also, the dictators used the WC to cover the kidnapping and killing of thousands of people

The 86 on the other hand, doesn't evoke any bad memories, everyone views that match with England as a revenge for the lost war in 1982, and the two unforgettable goals only help to make it more important.

Still, both are very important, of course
