I think GTA IV and a few other streaming games had less pop-in and texture issues on PS3.   Not that they looked better as such, just that an HDD outperforms a DVD so on a streaming world you're always going to see a better result with HDD vs disk in terms of pop-in.

What interests me is the news that KZ2 relies heavily on streaming but has no install.  Guess its possible but takes a lot of specific effort to achieve (i.e. exclusive title vs multiplatform).
