Um, developers never think meh who cares if it's slightly broken, we'll make a patch later, or at least any developer worth anything would never think that. People know if you release a shitty/buggy game and we do everything we can to stop all bugs possible.
Every game has bugs, nobody is going to release one without bugs and it's silly to think that will happen. Patching is a great thing because it allows developers to go back if something is sever enough it needs patching.
