good news i heard that the bluray discs cost more than the dvd discs is that true?.

Yep, and i'm sure that dvd will be cheaper until we get to the point where Blu-ray is sold more than dvd.  Anyway, according to www.eproductwars.com/dvd,  blu-ray is about $10-$14 more expensive than dvd at the moment but I see no reason for this disparity to stay as high as it is when the Blu-ray brand is getting stronger every month it seems.  Cheers

if they could lower the price of the discs the sales would skyrocket right?. but they wont probably do it.

The price decreases can only come from two sources

1.  Manufacturing/Engineering improvements-  New plastics are being considered and developed that are a bit cheaper which imply that we will gradually see some decreases in prices b/c of decreases in manufacturing

2. growth of sales- as more BD discs are sold, the fixed costs are going to be spread out, the industry will be formulated around blu-ray as opposed to dvd

Both of these will contribute to decreases in the difference in pricing of dvd and blu-ray, but like I said, it will take a little while.
