I've never read any of the books, but my friends and my sister go on about it. I have seen the movie-and yes, I do realize that is probably not close to the series- but I didnt see why so many people liked it. All of my friends said it was really good at first and then we actually started talking about the characters and how the interacted with each other, and realized that that movie sucked.
Bella is a very awkward person, and makes most of the scenes awkward. Edward is just as awkward by watching and touching her while she sleeps. That is VERY creepy. Thats not cute, thats weird.
Overall, I cant say I was impressed by that movie by any means. Especially one scene killed the movie for me- where they are playing baseball... that scene seemed so out of place and was very cheesey. My friends tried to explain why that scene was there, but only by saying "you have to read the book." I dont want to read the book, just to understand one scene. If I want to read the book, I will. the movie should want me to get more into the story, more into the background (ex Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter).
There was too much cheesey-ness for me to enjoy the movie.
The only aspect of the movie I actually liked, was the soundtrack. They had a very good soundtrack if I say so myself.
