I love my PSP. Then again I love RPGs (which the PSP actually has a respectable number of), and I am willing to go out and find out-of-print games for it.

I am only sad because the PSP section of major retailers is too small to carry many titles -- especially JRPGs. Also... kinda upset that I still don't have a PSP GPS.

Otherwise... PSP seems great to me. Sony has never abandoned it in the slightest. Even the list of 1st/2nd party titles for it is downright stellar...

  • LocoRoco
  • Patapon
  • Killzone: Liberation
  • Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters
  • Daxter
  • God of War: Chains of Olympus
  • SOCOM: Fireteam Bravo 1 & 2
  • Secret Agent Clank
  • Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror (and its sequel which I forget the name of)
  • MLB
  • Hot Shots Golf

Upcoming 1st party:

  • Resistance: Retribution
  • LocoRoco 2
  • Patapon 2

Almost every one of those titles is downright fantastic, exactly as I expect from Sony 1st and 2nd party. The 3rd party support is not as good, but its there if you look for it -- a ton of good series from the PS2 have a presense on the PSP.. Metal Gear, Prince of Persia, Monster Hunter, Madden, Tiger Woods, even classic 3rd party XBox series' like Splinter Cell do.

I just don't see where the software is lacking. The sales are lacking.. and that's kinda wierd. Although... the PSP sells to more than just gamers by nature.
