Meh, the online is never reliable for me when over WiFi, when I was connected via WiFi it took about 30 minutes to download that update, and often full games can take hours to download.
So, I done a little test and downloaded the PS3s latest firmware to my PC and it took just over 2 minutes, what the HELL is going on here, my PS3 at the time was about 5 meters away from the router, I have 8mBit (so, technically, I can download 1mb of data a second) and the router is a 54mb via WiFi. Also, when playing over WiFi my PS3 always looses connection. I have 4 laptops (one running Vista, one running Linux and two running XP) and they all connect to the WiFi easily and there are no speed issues, so it's certainly not the router.
Any suggestions?
In regards to bricking my internet since the update, I'm going to respond 'no', but tbh all I've played since the update is Warhawk and that's got so many problems anyway I just couldn't tell.
