Did Leo-J seriously say FF7:CC will get 10million WW? Something that no Final Fantasy game has ever achieved?
The recent final fantasies haven't even made it to 8million, let alone 10. He really thinks a FF game on the psp can out perform a FF game on the ps2?
Oh and also GTA is currently a FAR bigger franchise than FF. Gta3/VC/SA all sold over 11million copies. The best selling FF game ever sold just under 10million. Recent FF's have sold much worse. FFX is at just under 8million, X-2 is at 5.2million, 12 is at 4.94million.
Oh and Hunter_alien the DS is near the PS2's lifetime sales in Japan. The ps3 is selling much worse than the PS2, came out much later than the ds and costs FAR more to develop for. Why would they shift development to the PS3? Even assuming a miracle happened and the PS3 managed to sell as well as the ps2 in Japan by the time it achieved that it would still be HUGELY behind the DS.
SE will shift development away from the PS3 not towards it.
