People in this thread are backing Wii primary Wii development saying " it makes" sense not so much because of the financial viability and long term success it will give developers but rather because they are tired of crappy ports and half assed atempts on the platform , it's an optimistic approach rather than a well thought out business approach.

Let's keep in mind graphical prowess has never been a big selling point for the Wii , the Wii likely won't do much more graphicaly than the top visual games currently on the platform , The technology is older than it's competitors and it's arguable that developers won't even atempt to Push the Wii to what it's "truly" capable of. To put it simply high end games on the Wii would be a waste of time because in comparison to the high end graphics on other consoles they would still look inadequet . The majority of the fanbase don't seem to be too bothered with high end Wii graphics( based on the fact that they bought the Wii) and neither do the developers, I don't see that changing any time soon.

One of the biggest selling points of a HD game is the fact that the games tend to be of much higher graphical quality , it's what set's it appart from it's competetion ( Wii , DS , PSP , PS2 etc ) all platforms compete on some level and HD is what set's the PS3/360 appart from the rest . Developers that have been stubborn with the Wii aren't going to suddenly switch to primary Wii development , that would slow down if not kill the graphical progression of HD games

Let's put it this way , primary Wii development would be literaly killing 2 birds with one stone...but not in the way you'd like.
