In fairness to the OP, he's not making any claim that those items listed were poor ideological design choices, simply that he doesn't find those aspects of the game fun. So one can argue that it's about realism, but at the end of the day if he doesn't find those elements fun, then that's really what matters(at least to him).
Although I do agree it's tough(and premature) to judge a game until you play the final product.
