They're kills, objectives, and class abilities (reviving somebody as a medic). However, it's not a 1-1 thing, I think it was taking somebody down was like two or three points. Also, if you're on the winning team, you get a bonus of x1.5 to the points you earned that round.
Also, getting medals can increase points you get for doing certain things. For example, if you get a medal for kills during a body count mission, you'll get more points per kill during body count missions. It's similar if you get a medal for assassination missions as well, if you get a medal for surviving as the target or killing the target, you'll get more points for doing those things when you get the medal.
