Please, pick ANY other example. Using the ungodly massive selling Pokemon against a new IP Japanese RPG on a system that is primarily west with half the userbase of the Wii is an example awful beyond words. Mothership game or not, Pokemon will sell wrapped dog fecies with its name on it.

So wouldn't that mean the Wii can sell popular series really well?

Thanks on proving my point ;)

Not necessarily. The home console adaptations of games don't necessarily do well. The Monster Hunter games (point I'm proving because people seem so proud of it going to the wii) have done really bad in comparison to the PSP games.

The lowest selling PSP Monster Hunter title sold over a million. The highest selling PS2 Monster Hunter game sold around .6 million, assuming the data is accurate, which even so, it's still declining massively on the home consoles and rising significantly on the handheld console. That's one reason I don't see the Wii version selling millions

Monster Hunter 2 (Ps2) - .62 million
Monster Hunter (Ps2) - .28 million
Monster Hunter G (Ps2) - .23 million

compared to

Monster Hunter Freedom (PSP) - 1.03 million
Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G (PSP) - 1.76
Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G 2 (PSP) - 2.83

I'm not saying that I'm hoping Monster Hunter for the Wii does bad, but I'm just saying that it's not proven that it will sell well, especially considering that you pointed out rearlier that the ones that have sold well are well-known franchises.

I thought this was about Persona... and other Atlus franchises.
