I too hate the PS3 controller's triggers, they just weren't meant to be there.
Also, as a person that's owned a PS2 for at least the last 5 years and a PS1 before that, I've never experienced a problem with the PS1 and PS2 controllers, which makes the PS3's more frustrating.
Problems with my PS3 controller:
- Left analogue starts making clicking noises when I rotate it full (or close to full) circle
- Triggers have no feel to them. "spongey" is how I'd put it.
Sorry, I can't give you any advice on repairs, because I don't dare open mine.
Probably my biggest complaint about this generation, I've been gaming for 15 years now and have never had a fault with any of my systems that wasn't caused by me, and now this generation, I've had a RRoD and 2 faulty PS3 controllers, neither of which could have been caused by improper use (I game as much as I always have and my PS3 controllers obviously have been used less than my PS2 ones).
