Certainly Nintendo gives the impression of laziness if you look at 2008 in DS and Wii, and just how they've been dealing with the public in general. However, that impression is certainly misleading, if you follow Nintendo's financials and the massive spike in R&D over that same time-frame
Microsoft works hard to actively improve their platform and publicizes it
Sony makes the biggest show of working hardest, and they do a lot of work in the end. To say they do the most is perhaps false, but they certainly give the best impression of it, considering how far the PS3 and PSP have come from the devices that people purchased in 2006 and 2005 respectively. Sony's worked hard to bring the new IP's, but it's because the whole process of new IP's and Sony's hard work is so well publicized that they can be seen as the hardest workers
