Second to get cash you have to do jobs (blacksmith in bowerstone market is the first), buy property, quests, etc.. You will have plenty of $$ in no time. Also your character does not do stuff when your not around, but you do collect rent when your away.
That is why I'm trying to avoid this step in the game 
I want to remain a rich bachelor with plenty of time and money in my hand !
