lol fable 2 is not exactly a hard game to play. Your first problem was getting married before you had cash. 
Second to get cash you have to do jobs (blacksmith in bowerstone market is the first), buy property, quests, etc.. You will have plenty of $$ in no time. Also your character does not do stuff when your not around, but you do collect rent when your away.
