How could you people absolutely want a company to fail. How does it benefit you?
When PlayStation line is discontinued, it will benefit both consumers and the industry. Competition between Nintendo and Microsoft is enough for this market, while three vendors add too much fragmentation. Ninty and M$ produce affordable SKUs and complementing software, while Sony obviously targets CEOs with their "premium-esque" prices though their titles are not so dramatically different.
Sony quits -> their franchises spread between Ninty and M$ -> become accessible to everyone -> good for consumer
Sony quits -> hd-games developers don't have to split development efforts between xbox and ps3 -> good for industry
Sony quits -> more japanese studios look to Wii -> win-win-win
Also, if we won't see those horrible ads from Sony then obviously humanity will be safe LOL
