I've got a mustache but as youngsters are probably joining this site as well I don't want to add any further details 
Anywho, on topic, the WII remote responds quickly, just take Wario for example. You'll need to respond really fast in an amount of seconds and the interaction between the remote and the game works perfectly! Therefore I don't doubt for a second that an on-rail shooter will just work fine on the WII with the remote.
