The only reason people don't count them as exclusives it's to "Oh they shouldn't have that much exclusives"

No, it's because they're not exclusive.

Bioshock sold 330k on the PS3, so there were at least 330k PS3-users that would have bought this game earlier, if it had been available on the PS3.

I'm not sure what you mean by this. Further, I know a few folk that bought it on PS3 for the exclusive content, even though they already owned it on 360 or PC, so your point isn't fully accurate anyway.

Why are you guys making a big deal about Mass Effect 2 / 3 eventually coming to the PS3? Because you want to play it, even if it is available on the PC as well. Console exclusives are a big deal for a lot of people.

Yes, they are for some, and they aren't for others. PS3 owners without a PC, or those looking for trophies, or those that simply prefer PS3 gaming, will want a PS3 release. Those with a gaming PC, like myself, may not. Having a game on 360 and PC gives that game as much exclusivity as a game on, say, 360 and PS3 -- in that case Wii owners miss out. Exclusivity of any kind is a big deal for people without access to the game in question, but that does not mean games on both PC and 360 are fully exclusive to either platform.

People are angry right now that the Fallout3 DLC is just available for the PC and the Xbox360 and not for the PS3? Why are you angry, you could have played this on PC anyway? And you knew it when it was released that you won't see this DLC on the PS3.

They are angry because they may not have known when they bought FO3, or they may want those extra features but don't have access to them, or some other reason personal to them. Seems obvious to me that they have a reason to be annoyed if they didn't know about the forthcoming DLC. It may not be a problem for you or I, but it is for them.

No matter, your comment isn't an argument for PC/360 games being counted towards 360 exclusivity; it simply shows you have no care for the gaming plight of others.

Why are there people hoping Left 4 Dead will make it to the PS3? You can play it on the PC right now?

Erm, because they don't have a PC, obviously. What sort of quetion is that? Why do some Wii gamers complain about not having SFIV? They could play it on 360! Or PS3! Whenever a game is limited in the number of platforms it is released on, there will be people that miss out. The point here is that many 360 games that are claimed as exclusive simply aren't; I play them now, and I have no 360.

A lot of PS3 users hope for PC games coming to the PS3. You act like you would be pissed to have the opportunity to play those games on your console.

Could you clarify that, I'm not sure what you mean.

Answers in bold above.

Best post in the thread.

Thanks for that. I think your post is pretty good as well.

I think the key comment in the above is this: 'many 360 games that are claimed as exclusive simply aren't; I play them now, and I have no 360'

That pretty much sums it up for me. The games in question are not exclusive to 360, they are exclusive to PC and 360. This is important, even to the 360/PS3 war, as it means that you do not need a 360 to play those games. To requote myself again: 'I play them now, and I have no 360.' This could not be the case if the titles in question were exclusive to the 360. This seems transparent and pretty indisputable; to me, at least

For me, the above clearly answers the OP's point: 'I don't understand why games released on the 360 and PC aren't counted as 360 exclusives in the context of the console war by some. You can't find them on any other console, therefore they are Xbox 360 exclusives.'

They are exclusive to PC and 360, not 360; thus, they are not exclusive to 360 alone. It is important to make the distinction, especially in the context of the console war, as, for example, many PS3 gamers have gaming PCs (including me); therefore, they can play the games in question even though they do not have a 360. Yes, the 360 has a game the PS3 does not have, but this does not mean you need to have a 360 to play it. In short: if you do not need a 360 to play a game, it is not exclusive to the 360.
