Well from what I've gathered from my small online experience and constant msg board postings of people complaining of quitters it has to do with rank. It seems like people want to just achieve their high rank rather then the whole kill death ratio and such.
I gota dig up a link later but it looks like Epic is already working on another patch to re-balance things and possibly make public/non-ranked matchs a option again. Granted the next patch probably won't be out for months.
